Four Typical College Essay TopicsThe best essay topics are well-written in a way that brings content and is well organized. When writing a college essay, make sure you outline your topic so it makes sense to the person reviewing your work. Here are four typical college essay topics:Statistics - Your educational background is likely to play a major role in determining your topic. You may not always be asked for your statistics background, but you can always include this information when writing your research materials. Statistics should make for an engaging topic for your college essay and if you do not know anything about statistics you may want to take the time to learn more.Keyword research - Once you decide on a topic, think about what words you want to use to describe your topic. It can be helpful to write down examples of words or phrases that could accurately describe your topic so you will know what you are looking for. It will also help if you can define your topic as much as possible.Professional experience - This topic is often used for job applications. However, it can also be used in your college research papers. Do not try to hide your professional background, however. To impress a potential employer, you want them to see your work and be impressed by your education.Humor - Try not to be too serious when writing your topic. For many students, this is a very difficult skill to master. However, writing a college essay is very similar to the writing process and you can use humor to lighten up the tone.Intrigue - Many students have an interest in one subject that is outside of their area of study. Other students are interested in a topic that they believe will bring out a larger passion. In either case, this is an excellent topic to explore in your essay. If you cannot think of a topic that can be used as an example, keep in mind that you can still explore that area in your essay.Essay length - Your assignment will dictate how much of your essay is the actual text and how much is just the outline. This will also affect how long your essay is. Your essay should be short enough to attract a high grade, but long enough to explain each concept thoroughly. Length does not necessarily mean less quality; it can be beneficial to include a lengthy essay at the end of the paper to really elaborate on a topic. While you can research your topic to find typical college essay topics, these are the most common topics to be included in an essay. It is important to make your topic unique and this can be done in different ways.

After all, it is very difficult to write anything on your own that will have any amount of quality, and even if you think you can write the paper, it won't be worth much unless it will be used in an exam and it would really help you with it.This is one of the main reasons why you should get help from a teacher, who can give you feedback about what you wrote. It will help you improve your writing in a good way, without making you feel bad about yourself, which will be much better for you.Of course, you don't have to worry about having a perfect grade in your paper. It could be on any subject, as long as it's somethi ng relevant to your studies. This way, you can get a clearer idea of what you want to talk about, which will make it easier for you to figure out how to describe the ideas in a proper way.The easiest part is to list the points that you are going to discuss and organize them according to the chapters you have prepared. Sometimes, you need to write more than one chapter, which would help you to compare different concepts. After that, it is now time to write the specific things you want to emphasize. You can only understand the ideas if you look at them from every angle, and this is why you have to keep all the information that you have in mind when you write the paper in the right way. After writing everything down, you have to then come up with an outline of the course of the paper. It would be best if you create this outline by reading the course material and making notes about your notes. This way, you will have a better grasp of what you want to write.

They do it because theyââ¬â¢re frightened.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËFrightened of what?ââ¬â¢ said the second voice. ââ¬ËFrightened of hell, you blind fool. They think they can buy their way out of it by doing good.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËDoesnââ¬â¢t matter why they do it,ââ¬â¢ said the lame man, ââ¬Ëas long as they do it. If you can imagine that, you can imagine real goodness. Iââ¬â¢m damned if I can. I could live a thousand years and never see goodness like that.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËBecause it wouldnââ¬â¢t be goodness,ââ¬â¢ said the blind man. ââ¬ËItââ¬â¢d be wickedness and fornication, and sheââ¬â¢d be punished and so would you.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËThereââ¬â¢s old Sarah,ââ¬â¢ said the lame man. ââ¬ËShe come down here last week. She does it for nothing.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËBecause sheââ¬â¢s mad and full of drink,ââ¬â¢ said the leper. ââ¬ËMad enough to lie with you, anyway. Iââ¬â¢ll tell you what goodness is. Goodness would be to take a sharp knife and go round the city by night and cut the throats of all the rich men, and their wives and their children, and their servants too, and every living thing in their houses. Thatââ¬â¢d be an act of supreme goodness.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËYou canââ¬â¢t say thatââ¬â¢d be good,ââ¬â¢ said the lame man. ââ¬ËThatââ¬â¢d be murder, rich men or not. Thatââ¬â¢s forbidden. You know it is.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËYouââ¬â¢re ignorant. You donââ¬â¢t know the scriptures. When King Sennacherib was besieging Jerusalem the angel of the Lord came down in the night and slew one hundred and eighty-five thousand of his soldiers while they was all asleep. That was a good deed. Itââ¬â¢s righteous and holy to slay the oppressor ?C always has been. You tell me if we poor people arenââ¬â¢t oppressed by the rich. If I was a rich man Iââ¬â¢d have servants to fetch and carry for me, Iââ¬â¢d have a wife to lie with me, Iââ¬â¢d have children to honour my name, Iââ¬â¢d have harpists and singers to make sweet music for me, Iââ¬â¢d have stewards to look after my money and manage my fields and livestock, Iââ¬â¢d have every convenient thing to make life easy for a blind man. The high priest would call on me, Iââ¬â¢d be praised in the synagogues, Iââ¬â¢d be respected all through Judea, blind or not.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËAnd would you give charity to a poor cripple by the pool of Bethesda?ââ¬â¢ said the lame man. ââ¬ËNo, I wouldnââ¬â¢t. Not a penny. And why not? Because Iââ¬â¢d still be blind, and I wouldnââ¬â¢t be able to see you, and if anyone tried to tell me about you, I wouldnââ¬â¢t listen. Because Iââ¬â¢d be rich. You wouldnââ¬â¢t matter to me.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËWell, youââ¬â¢d deserve to have your throat cut, then,ââ¬â¢ said the leper. ââ¬ËThatââ¬â¢s what Iââ¬â¢m saying, isnââ¬â¢t it?ââ¬â¢ Christ said, ââ¬ËThereââ¬â¢s a man called Jesus. A holy man, a healer. If he came here-ââ¬Ë ââ¬ËWaste of time,ââ¬â¢ said the leper. ââ¬ËThereââ¬â¢s a dozen or more beggars who come here every day, pretending to be cripples, hiring themselves out to the holy men. A couple of drachmas and theyââ¬â¢ll swear theyââ¬â¢ve been crippled or blind for years and then stage a bloody miraculous recovery. Holy men? Healers? Donââ¬â¢t make me laugh.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËBut this man is different,ââ¬â¢ said Christ. ââ¬ËI remember him,ââ¬â¢ said the blind man. ââ¬ËJesus. He come here on the sabbath, like a fool. The priests wouldnââ¬â¢t let him heal anyone on the sabbath. He shouldââ¬â¢ve known that.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËBut he did heal someone,ââ¬â¢ said the lame man. ââ¬ËOld Hiram. You remember that. He told him to take up his bed and walk.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËBloody rubbish,ââ¬â¢ said the blind man. ââ¬ËHiram went as far as the temple gate, then he lay down and went on begging. Old Sarah told me. He said what was the use of taking his living away? Begging was the only thing he knew how to do. You and your blether about goodness,ââ¬â¢ he said, turning to Christ, ââ¬Ëwhereââ¬â¢s the goodness in throwing an old man out into the street without a trade, without a home, without a penny? Eh? That Jesus is asking too much of people.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËBut he was good,ââ¬â¢ said the lame man. ââ¬ËI donââ¬â¢t care what you say. You could feel it, you could see it in his eyes.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËI never saw it,ââ¬â¢ said the blind man. Christ said to the lame man, ââ¬ËAnd what do you think goodness is?ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËJust a little human companionship, sir. A poor man has got little to enjoy in this life, and a cripple even less. The touch of a kindly hand is worth gold to me, sir. If you was to embrace me, sir, just put your arms around me for a moment and kiss me, Iââ¬â¢d treasure that, sir. That would be real goodness.ââ¬â¢ The man stank. The smell of faeces, urine, vomit, and years of accumulated filth rose from him in a cloud. Christ leant down and tried to embrace him, and had to turn away, and retched, and tried again. There was a moment of clumsiness as the lame manââ¬â¢s arms tried to embrace him in return, and then the smell became too much, and Christ had to kiss him very quickly and then push him away and stand up. A short laugh came from the darkness under the colonnade. Christ hurried outside and away, breathing the cold air deeply, and only when he had passed the great tower at the corner of the temple complex did he discover that during their clumsy embrace the lame man had stolen the purse that hung from his girdle. He sat down trembling in a corner of the wall and wept for himself, for the money heââ¬â¢d lost, for the three men by the pool of Bethesda, for his brother Jesus, for the prostitute with the cancer, for all the poor people in the world, for his mother and father, for his own childhood, when it had been so easy to be good. Things could not go on like this. When he had recovered he went to meet the angel at the house of Caiaphas, but he could not stop trembling. Caiaphas When Christ arrived he found the angel waiting in the courtyard, and the two of them were shown into the high priestââ¬â¢s presence at once. They found him rising from prayer. He had dismissed all his advisers, saying that he needed to ponder their words; but he greeted the angel as if he were a valued counsellor. ââ¬ËThis is the man,ââ¬â¢ said the angel, indicating Christ. ââ¬ËIt is very good of you to come. May I offer you some refreshment?ââ¬â¢ said Caiaphas. But Christ and the angel refused. ââ¬ËBetter so, perhaps,ââ¬â¢ said Caiaphas. ââ¬ËThis is an unhappy business. I do not want to know your name. Your friend will have told you what we require. The guards who will arrest Jesus have been drafted in from elsewhere, and donââ¬â¢t know what he looks like, so we need someone who can point him out. You are willing to do this?ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËYes,ââ¬â¢ said Christ. ââ¬ËBut why have you had to draft in extra guards?ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËThere is considerable disagreement ?C I am being very frank ?C not only in our council, but among the people in general, and the guards are not immune to this. Those who have seen and heard Jesus are excited, volatile, unstable; some love him and some deplore him. I have to send a squad I can rely on not to argue among themselves. This is a very delicate situation.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËHave you yourself seen and heard him?ââ¬â¢ said Christ. ââ¬ËUnfortunately I havenââ¬â¢t had the opportunity. Naturally, Iââ¬â¢ve heard full reports of his words and deeds. If times were easier I would greatly enjoy meeting him and discussing matters of common interest. But I have to maintain a very difficult balance. My overriding concern is to keep the body of the faithful together. There are factions that would like to split away entirely and join with the Zealots; there are others that would like nothing better than for me to rally all the Jews in open defiance of the Romans; there are others that urge me to maintain good relations with the governor, on the grounds that our greatest duty is to preserve the peace and the lives of our people. I have to satisfy as many of these demands as I can, while not alienating those who have to be disappointed, and above all, as I say, keeping some kind of unity. Itââ¬â¢s hard to get the balance right. But the Lord has placed this burden on my shoulders, and I must bear it as best I can. ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËWhat will the Romans do to Jesus?ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËIâ⬠¦ ââ¬Ë Caiaphas spread his hands wide. ââ¬ËThey will do what they will do. It wouldnââ¬â¢t be long before they picked him up themselves in any case. And thatââ¬â¢s another of our problems; if the religious authorities donââ¬â¢t take steps to deal with this man, it will seem as if weââ¬â¢re supporting him, and that will put all the Jews in danger. I must look after my people. The governor, alas, is a brutal man. If I could save this man Jesus, if I could perform a miracle and transport him in a moment to Babylon or to Athens, I would do it at once. But we are constrained by circumstances. There is nothing else I can do.ââ¬â¢ Christ bowed his head. He could see that Caiaphas was a good and honest man, and that his position was impossible. The high priest turned away and picked up a little bag of money. ââ¬ËNow you must let me pay you for your trouble,ââ¬â¢ he said. And Christ remembered that his purse had been stolen, and that he owed money for the rent of his room. At the same time, he felt ashamed to take this money from Caiaphas. He knew that the angel saw he was hesitating, and he turned to explain. ââ¬ËMy purse was-ââ¬Ë But the angel held up a hand in understanding. ââ¬ËNo need to explain,ââ¬â¢ he said. ââ¬ËTake the money. Itââ¬â¢s offered in perfect honesty.ââ¬â¢ So Christ took it, and felt sick again. Caiaphas said goodbye to the two of them, and summoned the captain of the guard. Jesus in the Garden at Gethsemane Now all that evening Jesus had been sitting with his disciples and talking with them, but at midnight he said, ââ¬ËIââ¬â¢m going out. Peter, James, John, come with me; the rest of you can stay and sleep.ââ¬â¢ They left the others and walked towards the nearest gate in the city wall. Peter said, ââ¬ËMaster, be careful tonight. Thereââ¬â¢s a rumour that theyââ¬â¢re reinforcing the temple guards. And the governorââ¬â¢s looking for an excuse to crack down ?C everyoneââ¬â¢s talking about it.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËWhy would they do that?ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËThings like this,ââ¬â¢ said John, pointing to the mud-daubed words KING JESUS on the nearest wall. ââ¬ËDid you write that there?ââ¬â¢ said Jesus. ââ¬ËOf course not.ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËWell, it doesnââ¬â¢t concern you, then. Ignore it.ââ¬â¢ John knew that it concerned them all, but he said nothing. He stayed to brush the words off and then hurried after the others. Jesus went across the valley to a garden on the slopes of the Mount of Olives. ââ¬ËWait here,ââ¬â¢ he said. ââ¬ËKeep watch. Let me know if anyone comes.ââ¬â¢ They sat down under an olive tree and wrapped their cloaks around them, because the night was cold. Jesus went apart a little way and knelt down. ââ¬ËYouââ¬â¢re not listening,ââ¬â¢ he whispered. ââ¬ËIââ¬â¢ve been speaking to you all my life and all Iââ¬â¢ve heard back is silence. Where are you? Are you out there among the stars? Is that it? Busy making another world, perhaps, because youââ¬â¢re sick of this one? Youââ¬â¢ve gone away, havenââ¬â¢t you, youââ¬â¢ve abandoned us. ââ¬ËYouââ¬â¢re making a liar out of me, you realise that. I donââ¬â¢t want to tell lies. I try to tell the truth. But I tell them youââ¬â¢re a loving father watching over them all, and youââ¬â¢re not; youââ¬â¢re blind as well as deaf, as far as I can tell. You canââ¬â¢t see, or you just donââ¬â¢t want to look? Which is it? How to cite The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ Chapter 12, Essay examples
